Small Business Marketing - 3 Must Know Tips for doing business online More
Online marketing for small businesses has changed. Gone are the days when websites were little more than static brochures online. Things have moved on to a rhythm, and are now much more dynamic and oriented to building a two-way relationship with customers or clients, rather than providing information to one way. As such, there are a myriad of things to keep in mind when developing web sites for marketing small businesses online. So, as a small business, whether you are building your own website or, most important conference design agency, here are three important things to keep in mind.
1 It may seem obvious, but for a website to be successful its development must be part of an overall marketing strategy, and point to the achievement of specific objectives to be achieved - will not by itself increase sales or business for all the night! If your primary marketing goal is to do more business, it is important to consider two fundamental things. One, the best way to create a platform that provides fresh, valuable information and support to existing customers to build and maintain good relationships and generate repeat business, and 2 as attract new potential customers to your site and then convert them into paying customers.
2 Any dynamic website or blog worthy require fresh, new content that is important to agree a plan of continuous regular up-dating. So, when small business marketing, it is important to remember that often requires a content management system (CMS) to do this, you can often change and update at home. Yes, a small business web site may still have a few static pages even with the credentials, the terms and conditions, etc., but the ability of other pages up-dates, including dynamic elements, such as a blog to share their experience, the latest news etc on their niche is of vital importance, and they will all add value and develop relationships with current customers.
Furthermore, the use of video and audio on websites and blogs are increasingly used as people are increasingly accustomed to hear, see and hear different things, the most dynamic media (eg YouTube videos ever occupy the number 1 and 2 slots in Google and other search listings).
A key reason for a good CMS is that small businesses want flexibility and control to make changes to their site, without the ongoing costs of an agency. There are various CMS packages available today that have all the features of a site needs to build up rather than having to create sites from scratch using html, coding, etc. Often a business partner with an agency to customize this package in their brand in the first instance, and leave them with the CMS to make their up-dates.
3 Agencies often include a price for the presentation of a website for various search engines / directories to help you get listed in search engines (ie to be found on Google for example) and that is what is known as Search Engine Optimization ( SEO for short). SEO can be an art in itself, and submit your site to search engines / directory is just one of many things that are part of an SEO strategy. There are other things small businesses need to do regularly to be listed and found on Google and other search engines. The idea is that you want to be No. 1 on Google for a number of relevant search terms and thus it was found by potential customers who are looking for in these terms.
There is much more to keep in mind with the continuous development of websites for marketing for small businesses (and I have not even touched on all the new social media marketing stuff - think Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.), but these pointers should give small businesses a starting point to avoid the costs of going along the road of a static website, you probably do not give what we hope will, and, above all, must be under development. Better to spend a little time 'more now to be crystal clear on a marketing strategy appropriate and cost efficient development of the site, so you do not have bad surprises and extra costs that were not aware of across the board ... ....
