The Checklist is essential for a successful track record
This is a new year and a good time to review and update your resume. If you are looking for some pointers to improve your current resume, make sure you can tick all the following list:
Contact details
You must include your name, telephone number (a cell phone is fine), mailing address (at least the suburb to show you are real), email address, and any other relevant type of contact you are happy for employers display (do not include personal websites, like Facebook, except that professionally represented).
Employment History
This section should begin with the title, the company and the dates you were there. Then, in points, list the functions performed in each role.
List the roles with the most recent first and work back.
Where possible, it's a good idea to finish each job with a 'RFL' (reason for leaving), of course, if the reason is not positive, or requires some explanation, it would be best to leave this detail to the interview process.
Sample role description:
Customer Service Manager
XYZ Suppliers, Sydney
March 2000-January 2009
Duties performed:
or X
or Y
or Z
RFL: redundancy
Education
Show your education by listing the type of study, the level reached (eg graduating), where you studied, and when.
Please enter your education from the most recent and work backwards. If you have completed the education which is more than recreation related work can include it in a separate section after listing the appropriate training.
View your training as follows:
Arts Degree
University of Sydney
2000-2002
Interests
Includes some interest in your resume that reflects your character and how you spend your time outside of work. Remember, you want your interests to reflect in a positive way can only be understood what is appropriate and relevant to potential employers.
Referees
It 's quite acceptable to write simple:
Of referees available on request.
Many people do this to avoid being called to the referees without their knowledge or their permission. If you choose not to include referee details, make sure you take your data with you for interviews.
Alternatively, you can choose to list your referees as follows:
John Black
XYZ Suppliers, Sydney
0401 234 567
Make sure your resume articulates the checklist so that potential employers build up a picture of you and your history. Remember to keep your resume easy to read - font simple, clear layout - so the information will include both easily accessible. Finally, be sure to proofread your resume before sending it to anyone, nothing can undo your hard work faster than a typo. or bad grammar .......
