A bite of the Big Apple


When driving over the bridge to Manhattan from JFK airport is truly exciting to see from afar the iconic Manhattan skyline.

You can start your stroll through Times Square, the famous buildings with a story to tell. No doubt, New York and Manhattan are two of the most seen in countless movies and TV shows and this probably explains the intriguing sense of deja vu that can be experienced by visiting. It is one of those places that can raise high expectations for all travelers, and ensuring all travel to New York do not be disappointed.

Keep in mind that New York is a very large, so that any small trip to this city and dramatic dynamics requires careful planning. Do not hesitate to buy a map and a guide book before you leave New York, so you can take the time to decide on where you want to visit before leaving. Otherwise we run the risk of walking miles between the day after an exhausting search blocks aimlessly.

If you want, you can mark on your map some of the attractions on your list of things to see in New York, but also be sure to explore the places where really going to get a taste of this eccentric city.

Stroll through the East Village of Manhattan, who is artistic and relaxed, and delve into the thrift store on the Upper East Side. Do not overlook the trendy Soho, where you can find stylish bars and cafes and designer boutiques. The West Village, with its cobbled streets, town homes and brownstones Greek Italian Renaissance, where artists and writers trod ground for years. The fascinating and unique Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side is one of the attractions certainly worth a visit if you are interested in the history of the city. This brick house was home to five plants of over 7000 immigrants from more than 20 nations and the museum explores life in the context of American history. Other museums of New York, which deserve a visit are the American Museum of Natural History that will appeal to a sense of wonder and curiosity in all ages, especially the new Rose Center for Earth and Space. The Metropolitan Museum of Art houses more than 2 million works of art from around the globe and the Museum of Modern Art includes examples of some of the best examples of modern art in the late nineteenth century to the present.

A visit to the Empire State Building is mandatory: the 360-degree bird's eye view of the city, spectacular by day or night.

If you prefer green and outdoor fun, Central Park is full of activities for children and adults. From bike rental, outdoor swimming up a ride in a horse drawn carriage, or a row boat in the lake. And of course, the stunning Central Park Zoo to entertain the whole family.
