House Training Your Golden Retriever
Golden Retriever Training Tips - House Training Your Golden Retriever
Today Golden Retriever Training Tips Training House. You can 'house train' the Golden Retriever, following a set routine. Consistency will help your dog learn to trust that he or she will be left out regularly and you can trust. Here's an example of a routine that might follow:
MORNING
Take your Golden Retriever out first thing in the morning. Lead him or her by a leash that you want him or her to go. Generally lead to the same point every time you leave the dog outside.
Once your gold is relieved, give lots of praise and attention. He will learn to go in the area and begin to understand that going there will make you happy. When you come back inside, you turn and give him water and let it relax. When you need to go to work, you will find that it returns to the less trouble, if you crate your dog or confine him in a small room. Dogs do not like to relieve themselves in the same areas that eating and sleeping, so you are less likely to return to a dirty house in this way.
NOON
Back noon to let your dog out again. If you had an accident, do not scream, but clean it and take it out of the designated area once again. You will learn to trust you to return at regular intervals, and learn to "hold it" until they are able to get it out. Let your ride a bit of gold 'around, if you have time to get all the kinks and enjoy the fresh air. Remember to praise him to relieve himself when you want him. If you can not get away for lunch, ask a friend or neighbor you trust to help you. Consider hiring a pet sitter, if necessary.
EVENING
Take the time to leave the gold rush around and get plenty of exercise when you get home. Give your dog about dinner at the same time each day. Make sure you have access to fresh water. Some trainers recommend you take the dog bowls on a couple of hours before bedtime. This will reduce accidents at night. Its not even a bad idea to take your dog out, briefly, once before bed.
Remember to respect your routine, make sure that the gold has a lot of exercise and a regular schedule of eating, and always always always praise your dog every time he goes out! This is the best Golden Retriever training tip I can offer ... Always praise the good behavior you want to continue to see! ......
