Traffic Secrets of the website for non-technical professionals
If you're like most business owners today, you have found essential to have a website. Even if you do not sell products online, have a web presence is part of being in business, how to have a sign on the front for a retail store. The real challenge for many people is simply getting people to visit the site after its creation. Why do you want more traffic to your site? As we all know, if you're not on the first page or two of search engine results, does not exist online, for the most part. If your site has more traffic, your site will be higher in the search ads on search engines like Google.
This, in turn, leads traffic even more. Even if you do not have a business based dotcom, more exposure means more visibility and thus more likely to be found locally. This is more important than many people think. How many times have you typed something like "Houston barbecue restaurant" into a search engine in hopes of finding a good barbecue restaurant in own back yard? It happens all the time. Even if the company can not do business online, have that website with useful information such as phone number, opening hours, directions and brings in business. And 'the key to building a small business, if the company has a local or global impact. So, how do you get traffic?
This can be a daunting task, to say the least. Websites can be optimized to obtain better results using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques, which would be applied by a company of technical development. SEO is essential to have a website ranked highly, no doubt. It requires technical knowledge and considerable work to do. This is an inexpensive way to build a business, but there are things even a non-technical person can do to help increase traffic to their website.
Post # 1 in search engines
Go to the search engine of your choice, such as Google, and find their connection to "recommend a site" or "recommend my site". I quote Google many times in this article, as are the giant industry, but these techniques apply to any search engine. You only need do this once, and you only need to submit your main page. DO NOT submit it every week, as this will be considered spam and will hurt your rankings, not help them. Follow the simple instructions to submit your site, and then let the search engine do the rest. You should do this for the search engines you can find.
There are over 300 of them out there that I know of, so it will take some 'time, but it's worth it. Be sure to cover at least the main engines, like Google, Yahoo, Bing, and a few others. There is no need to be listed with all the 300, but it will not hurt. This is the first way to let search engines know you exist. There is no reason to pay for inclusion in a search engine, as all allow free insertion. Be sure to choose a relevant category when required, as this will determine where you are located in their directories.
# 2 Add your URL to your signature file
Make sure your signature file in your e-mail programs will always include the URL (which is your web address). This will ensure the URL is available to anyone and everyone who ever gets an e-mail from you, regardless of whether it is personal or business. He wants to spread the word about the site, and this is essentially free advertising. Take advantage of this!
# 3 Get back links
This is just another way of saying that you want to connect you to other sites. Be sure to find sites that would be complementary and not competitive with you. Any place you can have your link as a link available to help you. Google and many other search engines using back links as a means to determine how important your site. If you have a lot of people linking to your site, you must be useful, therefore, that weighs heavily in determining how to rank in search engines. The algorithm used to determine the placement search engine is very complex, but this is an important factor in the mixture. Often you can ask the webmaster of sites to give you a link. Do not expect amazon.com or some other giant to connect to you, but you can get from other sites.
The other way to get free link is to send a video of your product or service on a sharing site like YouTube. If you want people to see the video, make sure it's useful general information, not a sales pitch. I will not go to YouTube to search for an infomercial, if you have a video that is a "How To" on a topic, I watch it. If a real estate agent wanted to make a video, perhaps one that speaks in general of a topic like "how to get funding in today's market" would bring in traffic. This should be very general and appeal to a broad segment of the population, as my example might. If the link is the description, I would probably click on it to see how your site relates to video. This is a key component to build awareness of your site. Again, we must remember that you do not want to focus too much on sale here is to simply present the interesting information that happens to contain your link.
In this way will bring tons of other successes. If it appears too much like a sales pitch, people will no longer be interested in it, and will not become viral. I've done it myself several times, and the results are definitely worth it. I posted a video of a classic Corvette on a race track, which is very attractive to other fans of muscle cars. I also added my link in the description in my Corvette Restoration site, which is just a free site where the images show the progress of my restoration. I received hundreds of thousands of hits on the video and thousands on my site as a result - all free!
I hope you find these helpful tips and techniques to optimize its position on the web. The suggestions herein are not intended to be the magic formula ever to get more search engine traffic, since it is a complex challenge that requires knowledge of many areas of technology. This is simply intended as a guide to help a small commercial site and running more effectively. Using these techniques will certainly help, although you should not expect immediate results. Like anything else, it takes time. - ...
