Antique Binoculars - Binoculars Antique of our family
Many families have treasures that are special to them, because they have been handed down from one generation to the next. Old binoculars leave a wonderful memory, not only to use but to keep as an heirloom. A couple of years ago my father came across a pair of binoculars that were purchased by my grandfather while he was in Germany during the Second World War.
They are absolutely the finest binoculars I have ever seen. The frame and case are made of solid brass, which makes them heavier, but they have definitely passed the test of time. I borrowed my father's binoculars to take on a camping imminent. Well, I guess I should tell them I borrowed, but without the permission of my father! My heart was broken because I missed this ancient binoculars, while in that camp. I searched for them, but eventually admitted that he gave were lost forever.
Fast forward a couple of years and one day I was looking at some online auction sites. An article that caught my eye was just a couple of old binoculars. They looked very similar to those I had "borrowed" for my camping trip. They were not the same pair that I had lost, but the same exact model. I made sure that was not exceeded at auction and have been waiting impatiently to arrive by mail.
I was very excited when they were finally delivered. I decided to polish them and put them to good use. I was able to see amazingly well with these old binoculars. There was no sense of distortion with the images at all. I put them in a safe place at home and looking forward to the Christmas holidays, which was rapidly approaching.
Of all the gifts you have received my father Christmas, nothing compared to the old binoculars I gave him. He soon took them out to try them. He was very impressed by the clarity of the binoculars. We both knew that they were not durable enough and he would be able to get lots of use out of them. However, this should not be the case. Upon returning to the house of my father put the binoculars into the box and gave them to my son with a smile on his face .......
